KURT RALSKE
Kurt Ralske, artist and musician, misspent his youth as the driving force behind shoegaze/dreampop band Ultra Vivid Scene (4AD/Sony Music), during the years 1988-1993. Subsequently, he turned his energies towards visual art. His video, still images, and installations are created using custom software he programs in the language C++. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale (2011, 2015, 2017, 2019), Montréal Musée d'art contemporain, and Malmö Konsthall. He teaches at Tufts University, Boston, where he serves as Chair of the Media Arts Department. Kurt is currently writing a scholarly book, The Crisis of Truth: Japanese New Wave Cinema 1956-1975.
