JULIA PINKHAM
Julia Pinkham has been self-employed as an artist since 1979. She grew up in a home filled with art and music, animals and books. Her work has always been strongly influenced by her fascination with and love for the natural world.
Julia’s family traveled through Mexico for a year when she was 10 years old, visiting small towns filled with different kinds of art and crafts; paintings, pottery, weaving, furniture, stone and metalwork. This early experience helped her realize that a life of creating art was possible.
Julia currently works with acrylic and mixed media. Her gestural, abstract paintings on both canvas and paper reflect her ongoing interest in both the Surrealist’s automatic painting and the Abstract Expressionist movement in American art.
She primarily seeks to depict the personal inspiration she finds in the myriad life forms in the world around her.
