GILL LANDRY
The Many Moods of Cinnamon Canyon.
At the start of the pandemic, singer-songwriter and visual artist Gill Landry found himself without a home. A chance turn of events landed him in a remote stretch of former ranch land in the Sierra Nevada foothills named Cinnamon Canyon. What he thought would be a temporary refuge became years of near-total isolation, but for a barn cat he befriended named Killer. In that solitude, Landry wrote an album he titled Cinnamon Canyon Blues. Now, in this series of paintings, he presents the visual counterpart to that time.

"The paintings from Cinnamon Canyon are not just landscapes but documents of a place that reshaped me. Living alone among the dust, blue oaks, and granite, my life slowed down to the rhythm of the land. I've observed it shifting through seasons, fires, floods, and my own quiet reckonings. In this work, I've strived for each piece to capture the moods and weight of a place both harsh and graceful. A place that broke me down and built me anew. Where music and art truly became tools of survival against the howling madness."

Beyond painting, Gill Landry is an accomplished singer-songwriter with a career spanning over two decades. Performing under his own name, he has released multiple albums, toured extensively, and carved out a distinct voice in storytelling through music. His work, both in sound and on canvas, reflects a deep engagement with atmosphere, texture, and the spaces between.
