Allois
German-born American artist Helen Allois (who artistically simply goes by Allois). Allois is known for her dream-like, fantasy surrealism and her ability to tap into the metaphysical/playful side of her psyche in her work which often blends Renaissance style with contemporary painting techniques. Her work has been shown extensively in numerous collections and exhibitions, quite frequently in Southern California where she now resides and continues to paint. “Her list of collectors includes Hollywood luminaries such as Joss Whedon, Clare Grant, Seth Green, Joanna Cassidy, Dorsay Alavi and Matthew Flint” Hollywood Weekly, March 2018
Her awards and prestigious grants include: a grant from the Joan Mitchell Foundation, 2020, a grant from the Pollock Krasner Foundation, 2019. An award in the category Painting- Professional from London International Creative Competition, 2019 and the Gil Borgos Award from the City of Beverly Hills, 2018.
She illustrated a collectible edition of the stories by Edgar Allan Poe and Ray Bradbury "THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER/USHER II," published by Gauntlet Press in 2010.
The First Edition sold out.
Allois was born in Lutherstad Wittenberg, Germany 1969.
She studied at the State Academy of Art in St.Petersburg, Russia and the National Academy of Art in Kiev, Ukraine,1993.
In America, Allois studied at Portrait classes as a student of Inger Hodgson.  Also, Allois was a student of Lev Moross at Art Territory and Lev Moross Studio.
